Wear and tear happens to everything eventually. This is a fact that is certain. Especially when something is in service every day and is moved around as much as my laptop. In fact as we speak I have been planning a number of upgrades and replacements to refurb it and get it back to 100% again. One thing that couldn't exactly wait to be replaced was the charger adapter.
I noticed on Monday night that it wasn't charging or even staying connected for more than a few seconds. The wire inside of it was slowly breaking and I wound up having to hold the blasted thing in the socket for over an hour just to use my laptop! So I ordered 2 new ones. The advantage is that there is a cable in the bedroom and the living room and I can put one in my hospital bag should the need occur...
Last night the old one gave up completely. So I decided to do some detective work and unplugged it, stripped the wire back and had a snoop. The actual inner cable had completely snapped. How irksome! So you can imagine my sheer delight when about 10 mins ago the postman came with a parcel for me, my new cables! So for now good old Bahamut is sat in the other room being charged up. Next week I am going to replace the battery, then the week after either the disc drive (we still have no idea why that suddenly broke) or the screen which developed mura, a screen imperfection fault that happens in a very small amount of cases.
This should be interesting!

I feel sorry about what happened to you and your Bahamut's charger, Wendy. I haven't experience holding something in the socket for over an hour just to use my laptop, but I definitely know it's really a pain in the neck! :( Did you inform the store where you bought your laptop? If not, I suggest you do. They know better, you know. Good luck, anyway! :)
