OK so I have kicked a couple of bad habits recently. One of them was more of a way of holding on to the past and letting it have a detriment on my future. Over the last few years, one thing I did struggle with was my past. But at the end of the day, we all have a past and we can either learn from it, move forward and make a life for ourselves rather than constantly searching for answers that chances are were never where we looked in the first place. I guess my biggest way of letting go of the past was not looking at my ex's blog. It only makes me angry and to be honest it really isn't worth my attention anymore, and frankly I am really not interested in the "he said" "she said" thing anymore. Its childish and frankly pointless.
Another of my bad habits that I have worked hard to put back in it's place was the habit of drinking caffeine and energy drinks just to get through a day without being exhausted. I'd done it for so many years and it was starting to make me feel actually a million times worse. Something about a caffeine high and the crash that comes afterwards... Not a good thing to happen, and it was starting to mess up my sleeping pattern, to the point where I was hardly sleeping much at all... not a good thing for anyone. Besides, those drinks are full of sugar and not good stuff, not what you want when you are trying to regain an old shape and a better body.
On that more positive note, I have started doing something that I haven't done in a LONG time. Before I became very unwell (and broke several bones) I used to enjoy the art of poi spinning. I recently started doing some light spinning (OK so I can only do 15 mins at a time now but its fun) and it has been improving the function of my elbow. Since I broke it, it hasn't been right and it often clicks, cracks and makes all manner of unusual noises because the bone hasn't healed in the right place. Although I did find how it happened extremely funny... who would have thought that sitting on my feet, getting up in need of tea and falling over would cause such a troublesome injury?
I did completely destroy the elbow and made a lovely mess of it. All 3 bones, a loose fragment and a few other things. Not fun at all. It took a while to heal and it is very stiff and I still haven't managed to straighten it out, but who knows, maybe soon I will!
